Research Goal:
To study the role that
the transcription factor AP-2 plays in the developing retina. We
have found that AP-2 is expressed in retinal cells that are
differentiating along the amacrine and horizontal cell lineages.
We propose that AP-2 plays a key role in the transcriptional
regulation of genes required for amacrine and horizontal cell
function. The chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) method is
being used to identify AP-2 target genes |
Techniques: chromatin
immunoprecipitation, gel shift assays, in situ hybridization, DNA
transfection of primary retinal cultures, RT-PCR
